First SNog Event for 2010 - Mixed Pub Crawl

First SNoG Event - SNoG Pub Crawl!
 
Come on a tour of some of Canberra's central night spots and meet grads from other departments!
 
For: 2009 and 2010 Graduates
When:
Friday 26th February 2010
Starting at: 6 – 6:30pm at UniPub for registration
 
Signing up process: There are limited places to this event and spots will be allocated on a first-in basis. To secure your place you must email snog.social@gmail.com with your full name and the department you work at. Your name will be added to a list for the night. More details about the night and payment will be sent to you via email closer to the event.

Hey 2010 Grads
The first SNoG sign-up night of the year is here!
 
What: Sign up as a member for $15 AND nominate yourself as a candidate for the elections!
When: Thurs 18 Feb 5:30- 8pm @  Mooseheads, London Circuit.
 
Come to Mooseheads on Thurs 18 Feb 5:30- 8pm to sign up as a member of SNoG and enjoy $3 basics and tap beers.
SNoG is Canberra's own social networking organisation run by grads for grads. We run a range of events throughout the year designed to help you make friends and work contacts, and become familiar with all the attractions on offer in our glorious nation's capital.
 
Annual membership is $15 and gets you a shiny membership card, discounted entry to SNoG events (including the end-of-year Ball), and amazing deals at Canberra's beloved Mooseheads!
 
And for those of you who want to be at the centre of all the action, nominations for the 2010 ELECTION will open on the sign up night! All SNoG Executive and Committee Chair positions are up for grabs.

Events for 2010 Grads

2010 grads, welcome to SNoG. This will be the first in a string of events that the SNoG 2010 committees will be bringing to you in your year of shenanigans. Make sure you come along to meet new people and fellow graduates from all over Canberra - many of whom have come to a new town ready to make new friends.

This notice is to outline an early, indicative timetable for events for 2010 graduates.

Thursday 18 February: Sign up night, nominations for elections.
Wednesday 24 February: Voting opens
Friday 5 March: Voting closes
Wednesday 10 March: Successful candidates take control of SNoG for 2010.

2010 Events for 2009 Grads

Yep, that's right.

SNoG hopes that you've had an enjoyable Christmas/New Years break (we know we did!!).

To kick off 2010, SNoG will still be putting on events for you in the coming weeks before the new kids take over. How rad is that??

When: Saturday 12th December

 

Time: 12pm until the FREE FOOD and  FREE DRINKS    runs out

SNoG always promotes the responsible consumption of alcohol.

Come join us for a Summer BBQ in the park, Food and  Drinks  will be available free to all SNoG members and friends.

 

Food will include Sausages, Chicken skewers, Veggie patties, Salads and more.

 

Drinks will include Beer, Wine, UDLs and soft drinks.

SNoG Ball 2009.... 

 

Ticket Sales for the SNoG Ball 2009 close TODAY at 5pm. No ticket reservations will be accepted after 5pm today and ALL outstanding payments must be received in the ball account by Monday 5th of October or your ticket WILL be forfeited!

 

To all those who have registered and paid for the snog ball…seating on the night will be arranged in tables of 10. Nomination forms to choose who you would like to sit with will be sent with snog weekly next week and will be due by the 14th of October so start thinking about who you would like to sit with on the night!

 

All emails to the ball email address thus far have been replied to, so if you have sent an email enquiring about the ball at any time and have not received a reply please contact rachelle.loosen@deewr.gov.au   by the end of this week.

  Tickets: On sale from 9am on Thursday 6th August $95 for members, $110 for non-members
 
EARLY BIRD OFFER - $85 tickets available for the first 100 SNoG members to purchase tickets
(available 6th-19th of August). 
Tickets can be purchased by emailing snog.ball@gmail.com.
 
In the email please include:
                        -Your name,
                        -SNoG membership number,
                        -Department,
                        -The number of tickets you wish to purchase and whether those tickets are for members or non-members.
 
You're welcome to bring people from outside SNoG, but remember the early-bird discount tickets are only available to SNoG members (one per member).     
Once we've received your details we'll give you an unique reference number and the direct deposit details for the SNoG account.

It’s your favourite dress with a touch of old style, or something you’ve wanted to wear for a while.

But it’s not what you wear it’s how you have fun, with cocktail in hand, your night has begun!

Sugarloaf Hill Planting, Sunday 14 June

Join the ACT Government, Greening Australia and Volunteer Bushfire Brigades in planting and watering 3000 native trees, shrubs and grasses around Sugarloaf Hill in the Pierces Creek area.

 What time? 9:30am to 12:30pm, followed by lunch

 Where? Vanity's Crossing Road (off Paddy’s River Road), Pierces Creek Forest

 How to get there? CATCH A BUS OR CAR POOL.

Bus details: A bus will pick up volunteers at the City West bus terminal on Marcus Clarke St (between University Ave and Allsop St) at 8:45am and then pick up volunteers at Deeks Forest Park on Uriarra Rd at 9:00am. N.B. There is only one bus that will pick up volunteers at both locations. When RSVPing, please indicate if you would like a seat on the bus. RSVP early to secure your seat.

 If driving from north and central Canberra, head west on Cotter Rd, cross the Murrumbidgee and Cotter Rivers, drive 2.7km past the Cotter Reserve (picnic area), then turn right onto Vanity's Crossing Rd.

 If driving from Tuggeranong, head for Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and keep driving for about 15km on Paddy's River Rd towards the Cotter until you get to Vanity's Crossing Rd on your left. Look for GA directional signs.

 What to bring/wear? Hat, sunscreen, long sleeves, gardening gloves, long pants, gaiters (if you have a pair), sturdy boots, water bottle

 What to expect? A little blackberry and fallen timber, great views, portaloos, forecast of 12 degrees (average for June)
